A few months ago, I finally decided to see what all the fuss was about and try a Richard Mille clone for myself. I was nervous opening the box, mostly because I had no idea whether the sapphire would look convincing or just overly shiny in person. Happily, this watch came across much better than I expected. The transparency has a clean, clear look that lets the dial show through nicely, and it does a good job of keeping the whole piece from feeling dark or closed off. On the wrist, the shape has that unmistakable tonneau look, and the presence is strong without being silly. My only small nitpick is that the strap took a little fiddling to settle in comfortably at first—it was not bad, just not perfect straight out of the box. After wearing it for a while, that eased up. For someone buying their first replica, the overall value feels very fair for the money.
