What to check
- Minute-track numerals. The 05 through 55 markings must be evenly spaced and identical in weight. This is a busy dial and any inconsistency shows.
- Green and yellow text. The Rolex coronet and text use specific greens and yellows. Cheap builds run lime or mustard.
- 3-6-9 numeral shape. These are large applied numerals, not printed. They should sit flush and be evenly lumed.
- Crown guards. The 126900 added crown guards over the 116900. Check you are getting the reference you expect.
The Rolex Air-King clone references we stock
The 126900 with crown guards and the earlier 116900, both 40mm on Oyster bracelets. $1,150. Clean Factory leads with a cloned 3230 movement.
Who this suits
The Air-King is the least conventional Rolex in the catalogue and it divides opinion sharply. If you want a Rolex nobody else in the room is wearing, this is it. If you want the classic Rolex look, buy a Datejust or an Explorer.
Before it ships
Each Air-King spends 24 to 48 hours on a timegrapher. We photograph the dial straight-on at high resolution because on this model the dial printing is where all the quality sits.
Frequently asked questions
How much is an Air-King super clone?
$1,150.
What is the difference between the 116900 and the 126900?
The 126900 added crown guards and a revised dial. The 116900 has no crown guards.
Is the dial really that unusual?
Yes, and deliberately so. The 3-6-9 layout with a numbered minute track exists on no other current Rolex.
