The Arabic numerals on this dial read differently from Roman. They are bolder and rounder, and they fill the green ground visibly. Green shifts under different light: it reads olive in shade and brighter in direct sun. The President bracelet stays consistent whatever the dial does. If you compare this to a Roman version in the same colour, you buy a different read from across the table.

- Water resistance. The genuine reference is rated to 100 metres. This build is not pressure tested. Treat it as splash resistant and keep it out of the pool.

Compared with my genuine piece, the wrist presence is pretty convincing and the packaging is better than I expected. The box and papers give it a more complete feel when you open it. My only gripe is that the clasp could feel a touch smoother. I’m likely ordering another next month.

The case finishing is the part that kept catching my eye, with clean edges and a polished look that feels well put together for the money. The date wheel font is also nicely done, close enough in spirit to what I wanted. My only small nitpick is the bracelet needed a bit of extra fiddling to sit just right on my wrist. Still, I’m happy with it and already thinking about the next one.
