Is this actually a good first Omega-style daily watch? Yes — and I’m honestly relieved I took the chance.
The detail that surprised me most was the helium escape valve. I know that sounds like a weird thing to care about on a watch I’m going to wear to work and on weekends, but the little bit of finishing there really sells the whole case. It doesn’t look like a random dot stuck on as an afterthought; it has the right presence and makes the watch feel more complete.
That sense of completeness carries through the rest of the watch too. The dial looks crisp in person, and the proportions just work on the wrist. I’ve been wearing it as a daily piece, and it has that nice balance of being dressy enough for a nice shirt but not so fussy that I’d hesitate to use it regularly. The packaging was solid as well, which helped make the whole thing feel like I wasn’t rolling the dice.
Honestly, I’m glad my first buy in this lane landed this well — I’d buy again.

I ordered this from my own little corner of the South after staring at pictures of the genuine De Ville for way too long, and I mostly expected to be let down. that turned out not to be the case. The first thing that got me was the bracelet articulation. It moves the way it should, with enough give that it doesn’t feel like a stiff slab on the wrist. I’ve had cheaper pieces where the bracelet fights you all day; this one doesn’t do that.
Compared to the genuine, it’s closer than I figured it would be for the money. The overall look is clean, and the watch has that proper Omega feel in the hand without trying too hard. The dial finish is sharp too, and the whole thing wears better than I expected for something I bought as a self-treat upgrade.
My only small nitpick is that I wish the clasp action felt just a touch smoother. It’s not a dealbreaker, just something I noticed.
Still, for daily wear, it’s been easy to enjoy and easy to reach for.
