The James Bond runs a black laser cut wave dial and a ceramic bezel. The dial behaves under light the same way as the base black reference. To tell it from other black-dial variants, look at the bezel insert colour and the strap. The skeletonised seconds hand stands out against the dark ground. The wave surface becomes clear under direct light and less defined under indirect light.

- Water resistance. The genuine reference is rated to 300 metres. This build is not pressure tested. Treat it as splash resistant and keep it out of the pool.

I’ve handled the genuine Omega Seamaster Diver James Bond before, and while I’m not going to pretend this is the exact same thing, it gets much closer than I expected in the overall look and presence. Picked it up as a little self-treat after a long stretch, and the first wear out to lunch had me grinning. Nice heft to it — feels legit on the wrist. Water-resistance vibe is reassuring too, like I wouldn’t baby it. Only nitpick: the box was a bit plain. Would still recommend it.
