Yacht-Master 40 in rose gold. The smaller case sits closer to a dress-watch profile than the 42mm yellow gold version. The polished bidirectional bezel scale in rose gold has the same raised-against-matte contrast as yellow gold, but the tone is distinctly warmer and softer. Check the dial and case together: the dial material must work with the rose gold. A dial that reads too cold breaks the pairing immediately.

Where this build differs from the original

- Case metal. The genuine reference is 18k rose gold. This build is plated over steel. Solid metal builds exist and are priced accordingly.
- Water resistance. The genuine reference is rated to 100 metres. This build is not pressure tested. Treat it as splash resistant and keep it out of the pool.

Compared to the genuine, the weight balance on this Yacht-Master 40 Rose Gold is honestly very close, which surprised me. On wrist it sits nicely and feels properly centered, not awkward or top-heavy. The only small nitpick is the clasp is a touch stiff at first. Still a strong recommend!
