Yacht-Master 40 with a silver dial. The silver dial reads lighter than a dark dial, and the polished hour markers stand out against it differently than they would on black or blue. The bidirectional bezel frames the dial. A silver Yacht-Master reads closer to a dress watch than the dark-dial versions. Check the dial text: on a silver surface any inconsistency in the printing is immediately visible. The bezel click quality matters as much here as anywhere.

- Water resistance. The genuine reference is rated to 100 metres. This build is not pressure tested. Treat it as splash resistant and keep it out of the pool.
