I bought this as a birthday surprise and… honestly, it made me look like I’d done a lot better than I had. The dial detail is what grabbed me first — the finishing has a proper depth to it, and it catches light in a way that feels carefully done. It wears with real presence without feeling over the top, which was exactly what I wanted. Only small nitpick: the packaging was a bit less polished than the watch itself. Still, the reaction when she opened it was brilliant… she didn’t want to take it off.

4 stars from me. I wear mine most days, and this Yacht-Master has got a lot right for the money. The dial detail is sharp enough that you catch little things in different light, and the date wheel font is cleaner than I expected at this price. It sits well on the wrist too, so it doesn’t feel like a brick when I’m out all day. My only gripe is the box was a bit plain. Other than that, it’s a solid daily piece, and the folks I showed it to thought it was a gift for me because my wife said it looked that good.
