The 5167R puts the Aquanaut into rose gold. The rounded octagonal case and the embossed grid dial hold the same geometry as the steel version. The metal changes the register entirely. The composite strap sits beside the gold case: the pairing is intentional. In warm weather the strap removes metal contact from the wrist and keeps weight manageable. The Aquanaut already wears lighter than the Nautilus on a bracelet. In rose gold on this strap, it runs lighter still.

- Water resistance. The genuine reference is rated to 120 metres. This build is not pressure tested. Treat it as splash resistant and keep it out of the pool.

Compared with the genuine 5167R, the first thing that stood out to me was the dial color depth. Under natural light it has that warm, layered look I was hoping for, and it changes a bit as you move your wrist, which makes it feel much more convincing than I expected. My spouse gave this to me as a gift, and I’ve been wearing it around the house and out in the West Coast sun, where the rose tone really comes alive.
The case shape and overall presence are spot on for an Aquanaut, but the dial is what kept catching my eye. It doesn’t look flat or chalky, which is usually where these pieces give themselves away. The finishing is clean enough that from a normal viewing distance it feels very close to the real thing!
My only small nitpick is that the color can look a touch different depending on indoor lighting, so it takes a second to find the angle I like best. Not a big deal, just something I noticed.
Overall, this is a sharp piece for daily wear and a pretty satisfying gift to unwrap. I’ll buy again
