Arrived and opened it straight away, and honestly I was a bit relieved when I saw how well put together everything was. Once on my wrist, the biggest thing I noticed was how thin it sits. I was worried it might feel bulky for everyday use, but it wears very neatly and just disappears under a cuff the way a dress watch should. I’ve had a look at genuine photos of the 5227J, and this watch gets the overall shape and presence impressively close. The balance on the wrist is what sold it for me more than anything.

The polished bevels catch the light in a way that feels careful rather than flashy, and the case work has a clean, crisp look that kept me turning it over in my hand. It has that understated Calatrava feel I was hoping for, with enough detail to make it interesting without looking busy.
Compared side by side with the genuine, what stands out most to me is how close the overall impression is once it’s on wrist. I’m not saying it replaces the real thing, but it absolutely gives the same quiet, refined presence from a normal viewing distance. The proportions are right, the dial has that deep, rich colour that changes nicely under different light, and the whole watch feels more premium than the price would suggest.
Packaging was excellent too — neat, secure, and way better than I expected for an order like this. It arrived feeling like something I had actually treated myself to, not just a random box. I’ll be looking at another piece next, probably something with a different dial style for my next purchase.
