Compared with the genuine Richard Mille, this watch does a lot more right than I expected. My wife surprised me with it, and when I opened the box I spent a good ten minutes just looking at the skeleton dial. There is enough going on in there to keep you staring at it, and the openwork gives it that same busy, high-end look from across the room. The strap fit was solid too. It wrapped my wrist comfortably and did not pinch or slide around, which is a big deal for me because I actually wear my watches all day. The weight feel caught me off guard in a good way as well. It is light enough to stay comfortable, but it still has some substance, so it does not feel cheap or toy-like. The only small issue is that the strap felt a touch stiff the first day, but it loosened up pretty quick. I have been wearing this one more than I expected, and it works fine for daily wear.

Compared side by side with the genuine piece, this Richard Mille 055 Bubba gets surprisingly close in the wrist feel… The tonneau shape and the way it sits actually give it real presence, and the rubber strap fit is better than I expected out of the box. It wears secure without feeling stiff, which matters more than I thought it would. My only small nitpick is that the strap needed a little breaking in before it settled perfectly. For what it is, though, the value is hard to ignore.
