Compared side by side with a genuine Day-Date, this one holds its own better than I expected. The first thing I noticed was the case finishing—edges, polish, and the transitions between surfaces all look really clean in person. On the wrist, it has that solid presence without feeling overdone, which was important for me because this was a gift from my spouse and I wanted something that felt special right away.
The watch sits beautifully and gets noticed in a quiet way. It has the kind of wrist presence that makes you glance down more than you need to. Picked mine up after reading a ton of forum chatter and watching a few comparison vids, so I knew what I was looking for. The box and papers were decent overall, and the glide-lock clasp has a nice, secure feel once you get it set. Not too stiff, not sloppy.
My only nitpick is the clasp felt a touch tighter than I expected out of the gate. Nothing major, just took a little fiddling. Other than that, it’s a solid wear. I’ve had it on through errands and an evening out, and it’s been easy to live with day to day.
