Where this build differs from the original
- Movement. A cloned movement built to the architecture of the original, not a genuine factory calibre. Clean Factory leads the current sports references and AR Factory the older Submariners. Ask us which calibre is in the build currently in stock.
- Case metal. The genuine reference is 18k yellow gold. This build is plated over steel. Solid metal builds exist and are priced accordingly.
- Water resistance. The genuine reference is rated to 100 metres. This build is not pressure tested. Treat it as splash resistant and keep it out of the pool.

Worth the effort to find one this close? Absolutely. As a collector, I was impressed by how convincingly it captures the feel of the genuine piece, and the box and papers were neat enough to make the presentation feel complete. Compared with the genuine Day-Date, this one got a lot more right than I expected. The ceramic bezel has a clean, solid look, not that cheap shiny finish you sometimes see, and the overall impression is very convincing. I’ve handled the real watch a few times, and this clone sits much closer to that feel than I thought possible at this price. The green ombre dial helps, too, but it’s really the bezel that sold me. I gave it to my brother-in-law for his birthday, and he just stared at it for a good minute before grinning ear to ear!
