The 116508 puts yellow gold on the Oyster bracelet with an engraved tachymetric bezel. The scale is cut into the metal and filled, so it catches raking light; the ceramic Cerachrom surface diffuses rather than reflects. The fully gold Oyster bracelet has a different weight from steel: the links move with more resistance, and the clasp sits heavier. That physical quality separates a fully gold watch from a Rolesor build. Every element is the same material.

Where this build differs from the original
- Movement. A cloned 4130, not a genuine Rolex calibre. It reproduces the architecture of the original and it runs a working chronograph, which is the point of the reference.
- Case metal. The genuine reference is 18k yellow gold. This build is plated over steel, which is why it costs what it costs. Solid metal builds exist and are priced accordingly.
- Water resistance. The genuine reference is rated to 100 metres. This build is not pressure tested. Treat it as splash resistant and keep it out of the pool.

5 stars. I bought this as a bit of a self-treat after a long year and, honestly, it’s turned into the piece I keep checking the time on for no real reason other than I enjoy wearing it. The clasp is what sold me first — the glide-lock action feels solid and practical, not fiddly, and it gives that little bit of confidence when you want the bracelet set just right. It’s a proper satisfying touch when you’re putting it on, almost like the watch finishes the outfit for you. The box and papers also made the whole thing feel much more complete; opening it had that proper special-occasion feel, not just “here’s another watch in a cardboard mailer” — you know? Everything looked neatly presented and gave it a more serious, collectible vibe. I’ve worn it out for drinks, to work, and even just about the house, and it feels like a step up every time. Will buy again.
