The -0004 variant of reference 116508 carries a specific dial configuration that distinguishes it from -0009 within the same yellow gold case. Both share the metal tachymetric bezel and matching pushers. Without the Oysterflex, this one wears on a yellow gold bracelet, which gives it a different wrist presence than the -0042 and -0043 Oysterflex variants. The bracelet links move independently. Where this build differs from the original
- Movement. A cloned movement built to the architecture of the original, not a genuine factory calibre. Clean Factory leads the current sports references and AR Factory the older Submariners. Ask us which calibre is in the build currently in stock.
- Case metal. The genuine reference is 18k yellow gold. This build is plated over steel. Solid metal builds exist and are priced accordingly.
- Water resistance. The genuine reference is rated to 100 metres. This build is not pressure tested. Treat it as splash resistant and keep it out of the pool.

4 stars. I was a bit nervous being my first replica purchase, but this Daytona turned out better than expected. The Oyster bracelet has a solid feel on the wrist without being sloppy, and the watch has real presence when you put it on. The packaging was also neat, with the box and papers giving it a more complete feel right out of the gate. my only small nitpick is that I wish the bracelet had a touch more softness straight away, but it’s already comfortable enough for daily wear. For the money, it feels like very good value.
