Smurf is a blue dial and blue ceramic bezel on a steel case. This differs from Bluesy because there is no gold in the case or bracelet. The blue reads cooler on steel than it would on a Rolesor version. Check the bezel ceramic for any shift toward purple: blue Cerachrom can go off-tone on poor builds. Look at the match between the bezel and the dial at the junction between them.

- Water resistance. The genuine reference is rated to 300 metres. This build is not pressure tested. Treat it as splash resistant and keep it out of the pool.

Was I expecting much for the price? Not really, but this watch ended up impressing me. The dial detail is crisp, the date wheel font looks right, and the box and papers presentation was better than I figured. Small gripe: the packaging had a slight crease. For the money, it feels like good value overall.

4 stars — I bought this as a gift, and the case finishing is cleaner than I expected, with a nice sharp look on the wrist. The dial detail is solid too, and the glide-lock clasp makes sizing easy. Only nitpick: the clasp felt a touch stiff at first. He grinned when he opened it—said it was exactly his style.
