5 stars. I’ve had the genuine Seamaster Black Steel in hand more than once, and this one gets a lot closer than I expected for the money. The broad arrow hands, ceramic bezel, and that deep dial finish all read right at a glance, and even under a loupe the details hold up well. Weight feels honest on the wrist, not tinny or overdone, and the helium escape valve detail is nicely done. Packaging was solid too. For me, it scratches the itch without pretending to be the real thing. It’s already turning into my easy daily-wear piece.

Is it a perfect stand-in for the genuine? Not quite, but it’s darn close in the ways that matter most. The dial finish has a good depth to it, and the blacked-out look carries very well in person. Bracelet articulation is smooth and wears better than I expected at this price point, with enough give to sit flat on the wrist. My only gripe is the clasp could feel a touch more refined. Still, the overall impression is very strong, and I’d gladly buy again.
