Arrived and opened it with a fair bit of scepticism, if I’m honest. I’d seen enough photos of the Richard Mille 21-01 Tourbillon Aerodyne to know the shape either works for you or it doesn’t, and on wrist it really does. The tonneau case has that same sculpted, almost compact-but-wide look that makes the watch stand out straight away. It doesn’t wear flat or dull; there is real presence to it without feeling silly big.
What surprised me most was the weight feel. It has enough substance to remind you it’s there, but it never turns into a lump on the wrist. I can wear it through a whole day and forget about it until I catch it in a mirror or in the car window. That balance is exactly what I was hoping for in a daily piece.
The finish on the case also helps a lot because the shape looks clean from every angle. I went in expecting to pick it apart, but the more I wore it, the more the whole profile made sense. For a daily-wear watch, this has been spot on so far.

4 stars from me. I spent a couple of evenings wearing this watch around the house before taking it out properly, and the first thing that struck me was the weight feel — it sits nicely and never feels clumsy, which is exactly what I want for something I might wear day after day. On the wrist it has proper presence without making a fuss about it, and that tonneau case shape gives it a really distinctive look that works well with casual clothes and a shirt alike.
I was also pleased with the screw alignment. That sort of thing jumps out at you once you know where to look, and on this one the details are tidy enough that it doesn’t distract from the overall look. It gives the watch a more finished feel than I’d expected at this price.
My only mild gripe is that it took a bit of fiddling to get the strap sitting exactly how I wanted at first. Not a deal-breaker at all, just a small faff. Still, once it’s on, it wears well and I’d happily recommend it to anyone after a strong daily option.
