Does it look the part on the wrist, and does the date wheel bother me? Mostly no — the presence is excellent, and it carries that Day-Date look far better than I expected for a first replica. The date font is pretty close, though I can see it’s not perfect if you stare at it. My mate had a proper grin when he saw it.

Arrived and opened it at the kitchen table while the snow was coming down outside, and the first thing I noticed was how well the case was finished. The edges are clean, the polished surfaces catch the light nicely, and it has a proper hefty look without feeling clumsy. I bought this as a gift for my wife, and the box and papers made the whole thing feel more complete when we presented it. She appreciated that right away, because presentation matters with something like this.
The dial has a good amount of detail, and even in low light the lume is bright enough to read the time without fuss. I also liked that it did not look cheap under a lamp the way some replicas can. On the wrist, it has a very solid presence and sits comfortably enough for daily wear.
My only small gripe is that the packaging could be a bit more polished in places, but it is still very respectable overall. Her reaction when she saw it was exactly what I hoped for, quiet for a moment, then a big smile.
