The Oysterflex carries the Everose case close to the wrist: the metal blade inside the elastomer keeps the profile flat between the lugs. The sundust dial runs warm, close in tone to the Everose case, but lighter and with a different surface quality. A black Cerachrom bezel creates the only hard break in the combination. The Oysterflex suits this build because it adds no bulk at the sides: from the front, the dial and bezel take all the attention.

Where this build differs from the original
- Movement. A cloned 4130, not a genuine Rolex calibre. It reproduces the architecture of the original and it runs a working chronograph, which is the point of the reference.
- Case metal. The genuine reference is 18k Everose gold. This build is plated over steel, which is why it costs what it costs. Solid metal builds exist and are priced accordingly.
- Water resistance. The genuine reference is rated to 100 metres. This build is not pressure tested. Treat it as splash resistant and keep it out of the pool.

I treated myself to this Daytona after a pretty long stretch of putting it off… and I’m glad I did. The first thing that caught my eye was the dial, but the date wheel font is what really sold me. It looks clean, sharp, and much closer to what I expected than other pieces I’ve owned. The whole watch has that special feel when you strap it on, like you finally bought the upgrade you kept talking yourself out of. Highly recommend it if you’ve been on the fence.
