Rolex Daytona Cosmograph 116520 Super Clone

The 116520 is the steel Daytona from the generation before the Cerachrom bezel. The tachymetric scale is engraved directly into the steel and filled, so it catches raking light with a depth that flat ceramic does not. This reference ran from 2000 to 2016. The case proportions differ from the 116500LN that replaced it: the crown guards have a different profile, and the bezel ring reads slightly narrower. For the older case geometry and engraved bezel, this is the reference to compare against the current one.

Where this build differs from the original
- Movement. A cloned 4130, not a genuine Rolex calibre. It reproduces the architecture of the original and it runs a working chronograph, which is the point of the reference.
- Water resistance. The genuine reference is rated to 100 metres. This build is not pressure tested. Treat it as splash resistant and keep it out of the pool.

Compared to my old rep, this Daytona is a big step up. The Oyster bracelet has that solid, smooth feel I was after, and it sits right on the wrist without feeling cheap. For the money, it’s closer to the gen look and feel than I expected. Will buy again.
