Mother of pearl does not read as a single color under any one light. It shifts depending on the angle. The two-tone case pairs steel with gold, and the MOP dial adds a third visual layer that neither steel nor gold produces. The sub-dials sit within the MOP field. At some angles, the dial appears white. At others, it picks up pink, blue, or green from the ambient light. The tachymetric bezel frames all of this. The effect is different every time you move your wrist.

Where this build differs from the original
- Movement. A cloned movement built to the architecture of the original, not a genuine factory calibre. Clean Factory leads the current sports references and AR Factory the older Submariners. Ask us which calibre is in the build currently in stock.
- Case metal. The genuine reference is a steel and gold combination. This build is plated over steel. Solid metal builds exist and are priced accordingly.
- Water resistance. The genuine reference is rated to 100 metres. This build is not pressure tested. Treat it as splash resistant and keep it out of the pool.

Beautiful watch… the ceramic bezel has that deep, clean look, and the dial detail is sharper than I expected. Compared with my genuine Daytona, this one holds its own in the right lights. My wife saw it and said, ‘That is ridiculous in the best way…’

Daily wear? Yes, surprisingly easy. The weight balance sits right on the wrist, and the Oyster bracelet feels solid enough for all-day use. My only small nitpick is the clasp is a touch stiff at first. For the money, it feels like a smart upgrade.
