Right out the box, this Day-Date looked the part in a way I wasn’t expecting for a self-treat. The box and papers gave it a proper presentation, and the light blue Arabic dial has a clean, sharp look on the wrist. The date wheel font is actually one of the better bits — nice and crisp, not sloppy at all. Compared with the genuine, it gets a lot of the feel right for regular wear and the overall presence is strong. My only mild nitpick is that the packaging could be a touch more convincing if you’re picky about that sort of thing. Other than that, I’m pleased and it’s already becoming my easy daily-wear piece.

I wore this out the same evening it landed, just to see how it would sit through a proper day, and it did better than I expected. The first thing I noticed was the cyclops magnification, which gives the date a clear, bold look without feeling overdone. That matters to me because I check the date constantly at work. The clasp is another strong point; the glide-lock setup feels secure and makes it easy to get the bracelet dialled in after a long day. The date wheel font is neat as well, with a clean shape that doesn’t distract when you’re looking closely. My only small gripe is that I’d like the cyclops to have a slightly stronger pop under certain lighting. Still, for daily wear, this is right up my street, and I’m already thinking my next buy will be the matching gold tone version.
