Black without stones is the most legible dial in the Day-Date. The day text and date numeral sit against a flat dark surface with no texture to compete. This makes the display readable in any condition. Against yellow gold or white gold, black provides maximum contrast. Against rose gold, the contrast softens slightly. A fluted bezel (if that is the version here) throws hard lines that anchor the watch in strong light.

- Water resistance. The genuine reference is rated to 100 metres. This build is not pressure tested. Treat it as splash resistant and keep it out of the pool.
