The Eye of the Tiger dial uses a stone-set surface with a central motif across the main field. Different materials cover the main field and the three sub-dial areas, so the register zones contrast in texture and colour with the surrounding surface. In direct light the stone catches from multiple directions rather than reflecting as a flat plane. This is the Daytona to examine close. Place the watch near a light source to see the material detail. The tachymetric bezel frames a dial that functions at a different scale from any printed version.

Where this build differs from the original

- Water resistance. The genuine reference is rated to 100 metres. This build is not pressure tested. Treat it as splash resistant and keep it out of the pool.

Could it pass as the real thing on wrist? Pretty close… the weight balance feels right, and it wears comfortably enough for daily use without reminding you it’s there. Compared with genuine, the overall presence is very convincing. My only nitpick is the clasp action could be a touch smoother. Worth a look if you want a daily upgrade.

I picked this up from a trusted watch source as a gift, and when it arrived I spent a good bit of time looking it over before wrapping it. The date wheel font is clean and easy to read, which mattered more to me than I expected. lume brightness is better than I thought it would be, especially in a dim room. The watch has a nice presence without feeling flashy. my only small gripe is that the box felt a little plain for the price. Still, i’d recommend it for anyone considering this watch as a gift.
