White and red is the most visually active Navitimer dial in this range. The red elements mark specific scales on the bezel ring and the dial. Under magnification, the red stroke weight must match the white stroke weight. Thin red ink on a white ground shows degraded before thin white ink does on a dark ground. Check both the red printing and the white printing under a loupe. The bezel alignment test applies to both the red scale and the white scale.
