Blue on the Chronomat produces a cleaner read than blue on the Navitimer because the dial has fewer elements. The large blue ground gives the sub-dials room to read clearly. On this reference, the four rider tabs contrast against the blue surface. Check that each tab sits level. Then look along the rouleaux bracelet in raking light: the rounded finish must be uniform from clasp to lug. The blue dial must be even in tone from centre to edge.

4 stars. As a collector, I noticed the sub-dial spacing straight away and it sits nicely, giving the dial a balanced look. The blue finish is sharp, and the chronograph layout feels convincing. the crown could be a touch easier to grip, but my mate said it looked spot on when I handed it over.
