The 116518LN replaces the engraved gold tachymetric bezel of the 116518 with a black Cerachrom unit. The scale is now inlaid into ceramic rather than cut into metal. That shift changes the front of the watch: the bezel reads flat and dark where the gold version reads warm and reflective. Yellow gold case with a black ceramic bezel is a higher-contrast combination than an all-gold build. On the Oysterflex, the case sits with the same flat profile as the other Oysterflex references.

Where this build differs from the original
- Movement. A cloned 4130, not a genuine Rolex calibre. It reproduces the architecture of the original and it runs a working chronograph, which is the point of the reference.
- Case metal. The genuine reference is 18k yellow gold. This build is plated over steel, which is why it costs what it costs. Solid metal builds exist and are priced accordingly.
- Water resistance. The genuine reference is rated to 100 metres. This build is not pressure tested. Treat it as splash resistant and keep it out of the pool.

Last Thursday I put this watch on for a full day of errands, work calls, and supper with the family, and by nightfall I kept glancing down just because it wore so well. The weight balance is what sold me. It sits flat, never feels head-heavy, and never digs in when I’m moving around doing normal stuff. Some watches look good in the box and then get annoying by noon, but this one disappeared on my wrist in the best way.
