Black on the Super Chronomat creates strong contrast with the sub-dial registers and the rider tabs. A Chronomat has far less dial printing than a Navitimer, so the bracelet carries most of the visual weight. Start the inspection with the rouleaux bracelet. Look along its length for flat spots or seams between the links. The four rider tabs must sit flush and evenly spaced on the bezel. Black dials show surface finish problems directly, so check the case under good light.

Compared side by side with a genuine Super Chronomat, the biggest thing I noticed was the chrono hands return. On this watch it resets cleanly and lands where it should. For the price, the overall value is hard to beat.
